HELLO WORLD

We’re Back!
We’re back! After more than a year of not posting anything on this site, we’re back.

We (Greg and Barbara) have had a tough year, but we have gotten our lives together and our partnership goals include making the site lively and we hope, helpful.
What we intend to do in the coming months is post at least one item per week. We’ll continue to add things about nature, but also about history and memory. There will also be things that might be helpful to some readers.
One item that will soon appear is a description of how I (Greg) once seriously considered suicide. The world seemed to be going crazy, my personal world was turned upside down andliving didn’t seem to make much sense.
But obviously I’m still here. The world still seems to be going crazy, and my world has turned upside down a couple of times since then, but I talked myself out of suicide. Maybe my description of how I did that will resonate with someone else.
Another item will concern how all of us have done something stupid and how we often carry that with us but really need to let it go after a while, admit we were stupid, lecture ourselves on why we should do better, and give ourselves permission move on.
I (Greg) have some twenty years of teaching experience. I taught composition, essay writing, technical writing and professional writing (that is, for professionals such business managers, not how to become a novelist or story writer). I think some of the things that I emphasized in those classes might be useful to some readers.
I (Greg) have also ghost written almost a hundred e-books and do the research for them mostly online. I have some tips for evaluating whether an on-line resource is reliable. By the way, Ido not use AI because it’s not very good, sometimes unreliable, and because if a client pays me for ghost writing an ebook, they’re paying for my talent and ability, not for computer rehashing of words scraped from other sites.
We’ll be adding some real historical love stories, as well, because real affection and love is in short supply today, and the passion of say James and Dolly Madison lit up their time and maybe can help light up ours. That a man loves his wife or a woman loves her husband, or a person loves their partner, with a fiery passion that glows through the years, we need more of that. And we’ll try to make the point that history is not just a dry recital of names and dates, but of stories about real people in real circumstances, just like our own stories connect those of the past with the stories of the future that have not yet happened.

Deep knowledge, every day.

Happy Reading.
Thanks
